Q We're having playability problems with QuickTime for Windows 2.0.2.
Our movies work great on the Mac, but when we open them with Movie Player under QuickTime for Windows,
we get this error: "could not open movie a11c1.mov". When importing into Director, we get
"Having trouble reading this file. -2048". What's causing this?
A -2048 means there is no movie in the data fork -- in other words, no data atoms
-- so the movie toolbox can't read anything in. This would indicate the movie file is corrupt, or not flattened
for cross-platform use (the resource fork information should be moved to the data fork). You can do this with Save
As and the Make Crossplatform check box with MoviePlayer.
